San Manuel and Redington
are in the broad San Pedro River Valley of southeastern Pinal
County. San Manuel is approximately 140 miles southeast of Phoenix
and 40 miles northeast of Tucson at an elevation of 3,500 feet.
Two other communities, Mammoth and Oracle, are located within a
10-mile radius of San Manuel. San Manuel's population was 4,409 in 1995.

SCENIC ATTRACTIONS
San Manuel enjoys a mountainous setting near the many scenic attractions of the
Sonoran Desert of Southern Arizona. The spectacular Galiuro and
Santa Catalina Mountains and rolling desert have attracted
various TV and movie companies to film on location in the area.
The region is a classic example of the range and basin
ecological system and is noted for its geological features.

COMMUNITY FACILITIES
San Manuel offers a broad range of community facilities
including a library, two parks, three senior citizens'
organizations, an archery range, rodeo arena, one nine-hole golf
course, one lighted swimming pool, two lighted ball fields, one
lighted tennis court, and a BMX race track.
EDUCATIONAL
There are three public elementary schools, one middle
school and one public high school. school enrollment is
approximately 2,000 students. The Central Arizona College (Aravaipa
Campus), located north of Mammoth, is accredited as the eastern
campus of the Pinal County Community College District and is an
expanded campus for Northern Arizona University.
MEDICAL
There are three health care facilities - Oracle Medical
Center, one in San Manuel and one at San Pedro Valley Health
Center in Mammoth. Oracle also offers the Tri-Community
Counseling Services, Inc., chiropractic and dental services.
